Hello everyone we are pleased announce a soft launch of Providing for Orphans and Widows. The name P.O.W. came to mind not only because of who we want to target to help but we also thought it was fitting in a way. Although POW can mean Prisoner Of War we believe that these Orphans and Widows are somewhat a prisoner of war whether it be to themselves or to the system that's around them. Sometimes you will see pow.james127 on our social media. Now you know what P.O.W. stands for but what does the James127 stand for? Simply a bible verse stating "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27. This is a new business and a we will publicly be sharing the steps we are taking to help these Orphans and Widows. Our ultimate goal is to provide a sanctuary if you will for Orphans of all ages but especially the ones that are about to age out or the ones that seem to just move from home to home. Did you know that a child in foster care will average going in and out of 80 different homes? Or that sometimes they get dropped off at the homeless shelter on their 18th birthday? Widows come in all shapes and sizes, young, old, men and women. We want to help them by providing grants after their loved one passes for whatever financial hardships they may be facing. When someone passes funeral expenses are not cheap and often times family can end up fighting because no one wants to take financial responsibility. Did you know an average funeral costs between $7,000-$12,000. Sometimes they need money to get out of a lease that they can no longer afford because now they only have one income. Sometimes they might need it for childcare or to gain a vehicle, just to give a few examples. We would also like to offer transitional housing to help ease the stress of feeling like their world was just turned upside down and now they have to reconfigure their whole life. We want to provide a safe space for people who have gone through these life events. Complete with community meals, community garden, horses, campfire chats, field trips to bond and have fun, job training, and employment, financial education and more. When people leave the POW sanctuary center we want them feeling loved, refreshed and ready to take on the world.

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." Helen Keller
